Welcome to Legio Burgundiae 1467-1477 website.
Legio Burgundiae is a Belgian reenactment company established in 2000 and has the goal of recreating military life during Charles the Bold’s reign (1467-1477).
Our activities come in the framework of a Burgundian ordinance lance on campaign. The lance is the base unit of medieval Burgundian armies. The feudal lance was raised by the nobility in case of conflict while the ordinance lance is part of a kind of « permanent national army ».
Occasionally, we add a field gun allowing us to portray the omnipresence of this type of modern gun in the Burgundian army, and a horse, an animal that can’t be ignored in medieval armies.
